Cox Communications is on the lookout for lecturers to use for its Cox Charities Innovation in Schooling grant program this spring, with awards as much as $2,500.
The deadline to use for the grants, that are funded by donations from native Cox staff, is Saturday and educators from Pre-Ok by means of 12th grade can apply on-line at CoxCharitiesSER.org.
Cox Charities is looking to fund creative classroom projects through the grants and expects to announce this year’s winners in March.
Teachers are allowed to submit multiple applications, provided they have various projects they hope to fund through an award. But each educator can only receive one grant per year.
That limit doesn’t extend to schools as long as their applications are for different projects.
Grants will not be awarded for playground equipment, technology that isn’t part of a school’s curriculum, teacher development time or travel.
Last year, 23 schools received grants through the Innovation in Education program, including Lafayette Christian Academy. This year, Cox expects to award roughly $170,000 in grant funding through its Innovation in Education program and its Community Investment grants, which help fund nonprofit organizations.
